27 Jan 2009 - Sunwing adds in Varadero

Sunwing adds in Varadero

The Hotel Varadero Internacional is Sunwing’s latest addition to its huge array of hotels in Varadero.

The silver-rated property is a Cuban classic and has often been the choice of celebrities as it was one of the first hotels in the resort area – and so enjoys a setting on the best stretch of the famous beach. With just 163 rooms, it’s a great choice for clients who prefer smaller properties and who are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Facilities include one buffet and one a la carte restaurant plus two snack bars, four bars, and an onsite cabaret/disco. As a bonus, all Sunwing guests receive a complimentary night at the Cabaret Continental dinner and show – the only Cabaret in Varadero.

For families, the hotel offers a kids stay-play-and-eat free program for the first child, and there’s even a special offer for single parents, with the parent paying the single supplement and one child 2 – 12 staying and eating free. The single supplement is even waived for all stays between April 1 and 30 this year.

Best of all, Sunwing is offering the Varadero Internacional at excellent introductory rates, from as little as $735 per person, per week from Toronto for peak season February departures. Sunwing’s Varadero flights are available from 22 cities across Canada.

“As a major tour operator to Cuba out of Canada, we’re always looking for new product in Cuba and are very happy to have added this classic hotel, a sister hotel to the well-known ‘grand dame’ of Havana, the Hotel Nacional,” says Daryl McWilliams, Sunwing’s vice-president of sales and marketing. “This is a great choice for the client who’s looking for a taste of the glamorous ‘50s with modern amenities added.”

Flights are on board Sunwing Airlines which offers all passengers a range of benefits such as hot towel service, bon-voyage glass of champagne, a choice of hot meals served with wine and inflight entertainment with yours-to-keep headsets – all included in the ticket price. For an additional $40 each way, passengers can enjoy advance seat selection, extra legroom seating, 30 kg baggage allowance and pre-boarding.
