Sunwing adds legendary Fontainebleau in Miami Beach

It’s been the choice of America’s finest families and of Frank Sinatra and his “Rat Pack”. Even James Bond chose it for the movie Goldfinger. And now that new owners have lavished $1 billion US on the Fontainebleu, Sunwing Vacations is proud to add it to its line-up of Florida hotels.

The Miami Beach landmark has always been one of the grand dames of American hotels, now more so than ever. The “new” Fontainebleau features 1,500 rooms on a stunning 22 acre setting in the heart of Miami Beach. There are six restaurants (including three operated by internationally-renowned chefs), four bars and (of course!) a night club. Public areas include the 45,000 square foot lobby: the spa alone totals 40,000 square feet.

Guest rooms include not only WIFI but also an iPod docking station and iMac computer.

“The Fontainebleu is synonymous with Miami Beach’s glamour of the 50s and 60s,” says Daryl McWilliams, Sunwing’s vice-president of sales and marketing. “And again today it represents all the best in gracious hospitality.” Sunwing has packaged the Fontainebleu with flights from Toronto and Montreal into Ft. Lauderdale. Flexible stays are available, but as an example, a one week stay in peak season of February and March starts at $1,195 per person, double occupancy (plus taxes) including air and a mid-size rental car.
