Sunwing adds Belize
Package holiday company Sunwing Vacations is pleased to announce its newest destination: Belize. This tiny Central American country – formerly British Honduras – is known for its stunning snorkeling and scuba diving off the world’s second largest barrier reef; dozens of Mayan ruins; and strong emphasis on sustainable tourism.
“Belize combines a fascinating culture and great sightseeing with the convenience of travel in a Central American country where the national language is actually English,” says Daryl McWilliams, Sunwing’s vice-president of sales and marketing.
The company is offering holidays at the 5-star Placencia Resort, home of the “barefoot perfect beaches”. This luxury hotel and apartment resort is beachfront on the mainland and features just 95 rooms. A stunning infinity pool, tennis, fitness centre and even wedding chapel are all features of this new resort. Sunwing’s packages will be all-inclusive, including meals at three restaurants, drinks at two bars, use of bicycles, yoga classes and daily activities, and nightly entertainment. Available at extra charge is scuba diving, horseback riding, spa services and special candlelit dinners.
The packages comprise flights on Sunwing Airlines to nearby Roatan Island direct from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal; then a connecting 35 minute flight to Placencia Airport, only 20 minutes from the resort. Sunwing’s new Belize program will operate from December of this year through to April of next.
